Streatham-Croydon RFC had a successful end to the season with thrilling final matches for both men’s and ladies teams before heading off for tours to Lisbon and Dublin.

Having been promoted to Surrey 2 for this season the men’s first XV finished comfortably mid-table after a thrilling 17-all draw against Kingston in their final match.

The men’s standout player has been Max Thomason who progressed from the 2nd XV last season to the first XV this season and has become a consistently high performing member of the front row.

The ladies, in their first season in a league, finished second from the top by only one point.

Their emphatic 62-7 victory in their final game of the season against local rivals Beckenham Ladies IIs making a clear statement of intent for next year.

The standout player has been Dani Davies who is the ladies highest points scorer by a country mile, both with tries and kicking from the tee.

Both the men’s teams and the ladies team are now recruiting for the 2017- 18 season and welcome everyone of all levels down to Frant Road.

After the end of the season the men ran a successful tour to Lisbon, whilst the women took their first tour to Dublin.

The Dublin tour featured a fixture against Garda Ladies rugby side, which they won 36-27 in a closely fought game showing great grit and determination. International friendships were forged as always and both teams are planning their next tours for next year.
