Thornton Heath Arts Week organised exclusively by local residents to bring the community  together through Art-based events and to showcase the creative talents of Thornton Heath.

The free programme of events runs from July 14 to 20. It will includes art exhibitions by Age UK at Thornton Heath Library; work by Kish Soobramaney and Jalesha Lakhman on display at LaZaris Gallery on Brigstock Road and a celebration of local artists at the CR7 Gallery on the Ambassador House Forecourt.

The Green Project by Pamper Indulge and Give at Thornton Heath Rec on Thursday July 18, 4-5pm celebrates an intergenerational gardening project.

Other activities include the Thornton Heath in Bloom prize giving, a fun day in Grangewood Park and an open day at CALAT on Zion Road with demos of creative courses on offer in fashions and dressmaking.

Other activities at the library to look out for include a history talk on Croydon Uncovered on Tuesday July 16 2-4pm and a women with wool creative workshop on Friday July 19 11am to 1pm.

On Saturday July 20 there will be a willow workshop for the whole family in the Grangewood Park ArtHive creating willow and tissue pieces you can take home. Email: kbcuppatea@yahoo to book.
