Thornton Heath champion Gaetane Jones has been giving a lick of paint to worn out street signs and furniture.

Gaetane, a Thornton Heath Community Action Team committee member, can often be seen in her THCAT apron litter picking in and around the High Street.

She does it for the love of Thornton Heath and doesn’t want recognition or reward However, her latest clean up exploits during lockdown have earned residents praise and deserve mention in The Chronicle.

She has been busy painting chipped and faded street signs in Hunter Road and Hythe Path along with re-painted railings, the BT cabinet and bollards.
