Thornton Heath Leisure Centre made an appearance on BBC’s Match of the Day when Crystal Palace star Jason Puncheon joined a session aimed at helping children and young families lead healthier and happy lifestyles.

I’d be the first to congratulate you if you made progress on the street drinking and general ASB on Woodville and Beulah roads. Why don’t you give a timeline for making progress so in a month’s time you can assure concerned residents that they will see improvements?

The Croydon born midfielder joined  Palace ladies players Ellie Stenning and Ciara Sherwood to take part in a special healthy  Eagles session run by the charity Palace for Life foundation with young people in Thornton Heath.

The session focussed on sugar awareness and one of the young particpants even left her own 11th birthday party to take part in the
