These images of The Grange pub show it when it was in its heyday.

Posted by the original pub owners Whitbread these black and white photos show the transformation over the years from old (circa 1878) when it was the Grange Hotel, new, to improved saloon bar and then the present day.

For almost a decade the imposing premises at 23 Norbury Road have sat empty becoming more and more rundown and a target for flytipping.

In 2010, Morris Rothbart of Goldland Management Ltd were given permission to convert the pub to form four one bedroom, three studio and two bedroom flats with the erection of single/three storey rear/front extensions including vehicular access and provision for associated parking.

Following this permission it  was auctioned for £335,000, according to an entry on the Essential Information Group web site.

A subsequent application in 2012 by the new owner Bhrijest Patel, from Bromley, involving landscaping for the site was deemed ‘unsatisfactory’ and refused by the council.

The original planning permission has now elapsed so would need to be revisited.
