Cake making extraordinaire Grace Humphreys, began baking as a hobby but her natural culinary talent could one day see her opening her own shop.
The 26-year-old from Thornton Heath who sells her cakes on weekends at the Whitgift centre in Croydon and trades under the name Laborjee (@laborjee) not only loves baking but is a tea fanatic!
Grace who started baking while studying Fine Art; Printmaking at Brighton University, said: “I started about seven years ago around Easter time, when the supermarkets were full of yummy hot cross buns, which I am a huge fan of.
‘This made me want to try and bake them, which was pretty successful and my family gave them a thumbs up.
“So I set myself up a little stall on Surrey Street Market on the weekends and now I have moved up into the Whitgift Centre.
“I sell an array of goodies, from cookies, cupcakes, brownies, tray bakes to layer cakes. Many which are vegan and also a few gluten free options.
‘I just want to do what I love and build a successful business where people can enjoy yummy homemade goodies with a cup of tea!”
