Thornton Heath’s Parchmore Medical Centre has won or picked up nominations at a host of  national award ceremonies this year for its innovation.

Last month Parchmore’s Dr Fernandes,  collected a national prize on behalf of the practice at the General Practice Awards winning the Managing Workload and Improving Access Award. Parchmore’s Teresa Chapman also won Practice Manager of the Year. In the Health Service Journal Awards the surgery picked up Highly Commended in the primary care innovation category for its Social Prescribing programme.

General manager Brian Dickens has also won acclaim for championing primary care in the NHS 70 Parliamentary awards.
