September will be one of the busiest for Croydon’s cultural calendar with the long awaited openings of the state-of-the-art Legacy Youth Zone and the multi million pound revamped Fairfield Halls.

The all singing and dancing Legacy offering an amazing array of facilities for the  borough’s young people officially launches on September 7 (P6).

The same weekend sees Thornton Heath Festival return with a superb line up of talent to entertain the whole family (P3).

The following weekend heralds the long awaited opening of Fairfield Halls which will have its own Caribbean Carnival extravaganza (pictured left – turn to P6).

September 14 sees the return of the Thornton Heath Market with the month ending on a high note on Friday September 20 as Grangewood Park hosts Thornton Heath’s first outdoor cinema.

Also this week The Shree Sakthy Ganapathy Temple in Brigstock Road treated local residents to a colourful spectacular of lights and costumes to celebrate a Hindu God (pictured).
