Another double stabbing has taken place on the same  stretch of Thornton Heath road where just four months earlier two men were stabbed.

Two men, aged 49 and 48, were found with stab wounds on Woodville Road near to the junction with Thornton Heath High Street on Saturday.

The section of pavement outside Clocktower Butchers, Jam Rock and Express Food and Wine newsagents was cordoned off overnight on Saturday and Sunday while police carried out investigations.

At 7.31pm on  Saturday, [26 November] police were called to the scene following reports of a fight.

Officers attended with London Ambulance Service paramedics and found the two knife victims.

They were taken to a south London hospital where their injuries were assessed as non-life threatening.

Enquiries are ongoing.

The road was still cordoned off this Sunday lunchtime when this picture was taken by Neil Tanner and the businesses closed.

This area has been identified as being high in violent crime and police are routinely patrolling the area.

On July 25 on the opposite side of the road two men, both aged in their 20s, were found suffering with knife wounds outside Paddy Power.

Both were taken to hospital for treatment and their conditions were not life threatening, said police.

The area in front of Paddy Power is partially obstructed by scaffolding as the owners of Crystal Court – Orbit Housing , a housing association have removed the cladding from the building after a fire in April last year.

The social housing block has suffered a number of anti social behaviour issues with drug dealers.

In October 2020, police smashed a drug dealing network which had been operating out of the Crystal Court area of Woodville Road with Class A substances being sold in the open in front of families and young children.
