Thornton Heath’s £2.78 million regeneration scheme is slowly starting to take shape.

If you look up as you go along the High Street and peak through the scaffolding you can see a brightly painted shop frontages which wouldn’t look out of place in children’s fairy tale!

Work has also started outside the Library and Trumble Gardens with bright new paving set against the backdrop of newly planted trees already a vast improvement.

The library will benefit from more trees, seats and the paving will be inscribed with stories about life in Thornton Heath.

While the construction works take place on Brigstock Road between Chipstead Avenue and Quadrant Road, parking bays and bus stops close to the site of the works will be temporarily suspended to keep the area safe.

This work will then be followed by improvements to the Whitehorse Road roundabout and the Parchmore Road and High Street junction.
