Thornton Heath residents Pete and Angela Lawrence have featured in the council’s Don’t Mess with Croydon’s latest campaign to encourage more people to recycle.

Many people will recognise Pete from the amazing wooden planters he makes out of scrap wood and wooden pallets while Angela (pictured) uses her skills to paint and decorate his creations.

The planters are part of Thornton Heath Community Action Team campaign to make Thornton Heath cleaner and greener as well as dissuading fly tipping. Four planters were recently secured and planted up in Brigstock Road, Melfort Road, Hamilton Road and Osbourne Road.
