The postal union has raised tens of thousands of pounds towards providing  a lasting memorial for murdered pregnant mum Kelly Mary Fauvrelle.

Branches of the  Communication Workers Union, across the country have donated thousands of pounds so far raising £14,856 towards a £20,000 target. Kelly Mary, worked as a postal worker at the Croydon Delivery Office.

Dave Ward, general secretary of the  CWU launched the appeal fund to provide a lasting memorial for Kelly and to support the family with the funeral cost’s. This is being done in conjunction with  Croydon and Sutton Branch and he says: ”we will liaise with the family to ensure we respect their wishes.”

Any money left over will go to support campaigns, events and organisations that stand against knife crime.

Kelly Mary was stabbed to death while eight months pregnant .

Her former partner  Aaron McKenzie, 25, from Peckham Park Road, appeared in court on July 17 accused of the murder of 26-year-old Kelly Mary in June and the manslaughter of her baby son Riley, who died just four days after being delivered at the scene at their Raymead Avenue home in Thornton Heath.

McKenzie who was also charged with possession of an offensive weapon ‘accepts responsibility for her killing’, the Old Bailey heard.

McKenzie, has not entered a formal plea and was remanded in custody.

A trial is due to begin in December this year after he undergoes psychiatric assessments.
