Police are investigating a double stabbing in Thornton Heath this evening.

Police were called to Boswell Road at my 6.11pm following reports of an altercation.

Officers attended and found a man who had been stabbed. He was taken to a south London hospital by London Ambulance Service.

A second victim was found nearby. He had also been stabbed and was taken to hospital.

Neither man is believed to be in a life threatening condition.

Officers have arrested one man on suspicion of robbery but enquiries are ongoing to determine what took place.

Overnight on Monday  (Feb 1) police issued a Section 60 order until 8.50am on Tuesday (Feb 2) covering Thornton Heath, Norbury and Upper Norwood following an altercation involving a group of people in Thornton Heath. There were not reporters injuries or  arrests.  

Section 60 gives police the right to search people in a defined area during a specific time period when they believe, with good reason, that: serious violence will take place or that an incident has taken place involving an offensive weapon.
