Hopes that that Norbury Brook would be released from its concrete culvert into Thornton Heath Rec have been dashed.

The Environment Agency has instead revealed two proposals to alleviate the flood danger to property with the construction of flood storage areas.

Option one costs around £1million and option two £19.2million. If funds are found the work could start in 2020.
