The Friends of Grangewood Park’s popular Picnic in the Park returns on Sunday July 15 from 1-5pm to coincide with Arts Week.

This year’s event features the ever popular dog show, bake off and photography competitions, along with art, spoken word, a bouncy castle, sporting activities including table tennis and all accompanied to music. Also not to be missed the annual raffle and again organisers are hoping to attract stallholders to sell local goods.

Plus this year as a homage to the park’s famous white squirrels there will be a prize for the best picture of a squirrel – grey or white!

In a bid to protect the environment and reduce the use of unsustaInable cups the organisers are encouraging attendees to bring their own mugs – for drinks!

The Friends are hoping that work on the park’s much anticipated outdoor gym, which  starts later this month, will be finished in time for a big reveal on the day and may be even a bit of friendly competition with prizes for the most bench presses!
