Thornton Heath dad has received over hundred messages of support after he posted his joy at welcoming his new son in to the world.

Hadi Naqui spoke about how hard it had been for him and his wife Bushra this time last year, as they had been expecting but before New Years Eve sadly miscarried.

Then, during lockdown, Bushra became pregnant again and on November 30 at 5.24pm they welcomed their new son Hassan in to the world .

His message on Nextdoor prompted over a hundred comments from well-wishers.

He had said: “I am always inspired by the strength of my wife and we thank Allah for giving us all the blessings in our life, including this one.

“Mother and son are both doing well and the rest of my family are eagerly awaiting the arrival of our son at home.

“Time to get fit and healthy again as I am going to need to keep up with this one!”

Having a pregnancy during a pandemic has had its own challenges. Because of the Covid changes it meant Hadi could not be in the hospital at the same time while his wife was having her check ups.

It was only when she went into Labour, that he was allowed to be with her the whole time.

This is the couple’s fourth son and Hadi, a mortgage advisor, told The Chronicle: “Being 44 and my wife being 40, with teenage children (our oldest turned 20 in December) it is like a new lease of life, and being able to re-live those early years you had with your other children is another blessing in itself, especially as the previous miscarriage my wife suffered.

“It is going to be a challenge, especially as I will need to get fit and healthy again to keep up with a young child. But both me and Bushra are looking forwards to it with great optimism for the future.”
