Thornton Heath young people are being given the opportunity to star in their own music video.
This amazing opportunity is open to local young people aged 11 to 19 and is being run by the Music Relief Foundation’s More Than Able Music Development Program.
The event takes place during the Easter Holidays on Wednesday April 4 and Thursday April 5 from 12pm to 4pm at Croydon BME Forum, 56a Mitcham Road CR0 3RG.
Before collating the material for the songs and music videos the young people will get to experience some thought provoking scenarios.
This will include a visit to a courtroom where they will get to re-enact a courtroom scene and interview some of the barristers and a judge.
This will be followed by a visit to the London Symphony Orchestra at their base at St Luke’s Islington, where the group will look at the fusion of classical music with grime, hip-hop, and RnB.
The event is free and you can book your place via: www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/more-than-able-music-developement-program-tickets-43878667275?aff=efbevent
Music Relief provide music as therapy workshops for local authorities, community groups, government organisations, schools and voluntary groups as an access point and referral unit building a strong community for its target audience.
It started with a core message to work with teen parents providing support and counselling for the enablement of a balanced wellbeing, acting as a place of theraputic refuge to enable respite and be equipped with skills for the unleashing of their abilities.
Since then the charity has expanded its message championing knife crime.
