Local cheerleaders bagged trophies galore taking home the Grand Champions crown in a competitive cheer and dance off at the Copper Box Arena.

The three Jets squads who train at Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College for Girls, took part in the Legacy Alpha and Omega competition in east London’s Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park on February 23.

The young athletes performed exceptionally well and did their coaches and teammates proud, coming first in each of their respective divisions.

The Red Jets were awarded top spot in the Novice division in their first major contest; the NM Jets placed first in the Youth Level 1 division and the All Stars came first in the Junior Level 1 division. To cap off an extremely successful day, the All Stars enjoyed the added bonus of being crowned Grand Champions.

A spokesman for the Jets said: “These fantastic achievements mean our squads look forward to their next opportunities to compete with renewed confidence, energy and determination.”

The Red Jets are due to appear at Future Cheer’s Into the Future event at the Brighton Centre in June, while the NM Jets and All Stars will perform at the FC Internationals at the Bournemouth International Centre in July.
