Detectives are continuing to investigate a stabbing which left a young man fighting for his life.

The 22-year-old man was found with three serious stab injuries to his chest and abdomen and was taken to a south London hospital but has since been discharged.

On  August 14 a 24-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of GBH in connection with the investigation but he has since been released with no further action.

Officers along with London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance were called  to reports of a man stabbed on Sandfield Road in Thornton Heath at  3.35pm on Friday July 13,

The victim’s family member have said there was seemingly no motive for the attack and that ‘he has never been in trouble… he is a good lad.’

A police spokesman said: “Enquiries continue.
