We-Stap which celebrated its first year anniversary of providing toiletries and products donated by local people to girls and women in need can now list a Hollywood star amongst its supporters.

We-Stap (We Supply Toiletries and Products to women in need in Croydon) was founded by Jackie Morrison to support girls and women experiencing financial difficulties and period poverty.

We-Stap has attended events supported by Mayor Toni Letts, Dawn Butler MP, and more recently  the award winning actress Greta Scacchi (pictured sitting.

Future plans include providing care packs for pregnant homeless or asylum seeker women admitted in an emergency to the local maternity unit, having drop zones in each ward, a crowdfunding campaign and introducing reusable products such as menstrual cups.

Period poverty affects one in 10 girls aged 14 -21 in the UK who struggle to pay for towels or tampons. It was  recently reported in the news that girls were not able to attend school as a result.

We-Stap has supported over 100 girls and women including Norbury Manor Business and Enterprise College, Croydon College, St Joseph’s College, the Family Centre, Fieldway and disaster victims of Grenfell and the Dominic floods.

Referrals are required and accepted from health professionals, groups, and social care. We-Stap would like to thank all their supporters for a tremendous year of giving to help girls and women in need.

Menstrual towels, tampons, shower gels, deodorants, toothbrushes and toothpastes can be donated at the drop zone at Tesco Thornton Heath, behind the check outs.
