Join local churches as they mark Good Friday with a Walk of Witness through Thornton Heath.

The Walk of Witness has been taking place in Thornton Heath for more than a decade and is a great opportunity for people from all the Christian churches to come together to mark this important day.

Young and old from all the churches in the area will meet at 11.45am on March 30, at the small green on the corner of Thornton Heath High Street beside the Salvation Army and Job Centre.

At noon, after prayers and hymns accompanied by Croydon Brass Band, they will walk along the High Street to Ambassador House, opposite Thornton Heath railway station, and after more hymns and readings will continue to Trumble Gardens on Brigstock Road.

At the conclusion of the walk, there will be lunch nearby at St Andrew’s church hall, Quadrant Road, in aid of Christian charities.

If you and your family would like to take part, simply join in outside the Job Centre at noon, or follow the crowds along the pavement at any point along the route. The Walk is for everyone so you will be made most welcome.

*St Paul’s Church is holding a Maundy Thursday Communion on Thursday (March 29) at 8pm along with an Easter Sunday Communion and Flowering of the Cross on Sunday (April 1) at 10.30am.
