Christmas is a time of celebration, family and reflecting on what has happened throughout the year but this year has been like no other, writes Aisha Jade.

Like so many other young people I was made redundant due to coronavirus, losing my main source of income but I was lucky enough to fall back on to my real passion Carisips Drinks the small business I set up two-year’s-ago, so it is not all bad.

I launched an online shop and this Christmas I have collaborated with a vegan cheese company who have included my tamarind cordial which I created during lockdown, in their hampers.

Having the time to evaluate my business sales channels and creating more direct to consumer sales and relationships has also been a plus.

Being a business owner is a journey of resilience and problem-solving and times like this test your character and the strength of your business.

My business Carisips Drinks – aims to connect people to their culture through rich and exotic flavours.

With products made from ginger, tamarind and sorrel (hibiscus), flavours are bound to bring back happy memories for many.

All products are handcrafted, versatile and non-alcoholic so the whole family can enjoy. They have limited edition tamarind truffles just for Christmas and a variety of gift sets that can be delivered UK-wide. Price range £8.95 – £36.90, Free delivery on orders over £50 Visit: www.carisips.com

Crystal Palace Market is open every Saturday from 10am-3pm and they have added in extra dates including Christmas Eve for some last-minute shopping.
