The Rams Junior Academy have played their way in to two cup finals after impressive victories from both Under 11 teams.

However, March has proved a miserable month for the AFC Croydon first team with a run of defeats but it has been an opportunity for the manager, Kevin Rayner, to give some of the younger members of the squad a try out, writes Paul Smith.

Oscar Guana and Gershon Humphreys, who are regulars for the U18s, have both made their first team debuts along with U23 Elijah Kargbo (pictured right) also having his first appearance.

The  senior men’s team has six games remaining, three at home and three away, so there is still lots of points to win in the hope to finish in the top half of the table.

The three home games see Erith Town visit the Mayfield Stadium on April 6; the visit of Punjab United on April 20 and finally Lordswood on April 27 all with 3pm kick-offs.

On Thursday March 28 and  April 4  the club plays host to the Tandridge Youth League U16 Cup and Shield Finals with both kicking off at 7.30pm.

On Sunday March 31, at 2pm, the London FA U16 representative team takes on Amateur FA U16. All these games welcome spectators.

AFC Croydon Athletic Junior Academy has teams from U8 to U15 this season.   Both the teams at U11, the Hawks and the Eagles, have both reached their respective cup finals with victories over Langton Green and Selsdon Juniors respectively.

The Hawks will play Sevenoaks Town Oaks in the final while the Eagles, who won the Autumn Gold Final (pictured above), will have to wait to find out their opponents.

The Junior Academy are looking for boys and girls who want to join for next season.

They will be holding trials during April and May and that is a good opportunity for aspiring players between seven and 15-year’s-old to try out for the teams.

The first trial is on Saturday April 13 at Mayfield Stadium in the morning.

If anyone is interested in joining then they should email junioracademy@afccroydonathletic.co.uk to register for this trial and more information.
