A cultural mosaic in Grangewood Park has been restored with the help of dozens of volunteers.

The Friends of the Park with funding from the council’s Ambitious for Parks budget restored the mosaic in the cultural garden.

Artist Grace Holliday  was appointed to bring the mosaic back to life as it had eroded over 20 years so the images were barely visible.

The newly restored mosaic which has now been grouted  features butterflies, a dragonfly, humming bird  and palm tree.

Dozens of volunteers; parents and children joined forces during three days of action in the park using donated tiles and tools to repair and reinvigorate the original design circa 1996 created by Beulah School.
