It was a comedy gold moment when an overjoyed mum stole the show on Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway by celebrating winning a holiday by waving her wig around before putting it back on backwards.

Single mum Aderemi Adejokun from Thornton Heath became a superstar over night and the clip of her tossing her wig in the air in delight went viral.

Her daughters had surprised her for Mother’s Day and when presenters Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly gifted her with a well deserved free holiday she was overwhelmed.

Dec tried his hardest to get his words out through the laughter as he explained: “You raised four daughters on your own, and you run a charity providing toys, clothes and books to underprivileged children.

“Your kids say you’re a mum to everyone and we think you deserve a takeaway getaway.”

She caused more hilarity later when the TV presenters cut back to the family home in Thornton Heath and she was wearing a different wig!

Aderemi is the founder of Relief Africa, a non-profit charity through which she supports and empowers children and families, who are economically and socially disadvantaged across the UK, Nigeria and Ghana.

As the founder of Just Smile Entertainers, Aderemi and her four daughters perform together as a family under the stage  name The Levites at local churches. They also cheer up patients in hospital with Aderemi impersonating Elvis!

After her TV appearance MP Steve Reed Tweeted: “Thornton Heath’s very own superstar (and my wonderful friend) Remi has the whole nation laughing as she celebrates winning a well deserved holiday as only she can…”

Following their new found fame the family also appeared on Good Morning Britain and had presenters Susanna Reid and Ben Shepherd in fits of laughter.

Aderemi explained: “It was freedom, joy, excitement… we have been in lockdown ,everything that has happened inside of me my only way of bringing joy was just to take off my wig and swing it around.””

Her oldest daughter Marian, a youth advocate, said: “My mom has passion to put a smile on everyones face.”
