Did you know Thornton Heath has its very own community based mental health service for young people in Croydon?

Off The Record has provided a diversity of support services to Croydon’s youth for over 20 years. The charity was established in November 1994 following five-year funding granted from the Department of Health.

It opened its doors to young people in January 1995 and in July the agency moved to its permanent home at 72 Queens Road. The name of the service reflects the nature of how the charity works with young people – keeping things private and offering clients high levels of confidentiality.

Off The Record believes that young people have the right to make choices and decisions about their lives. Its counselling service in Croydon is a self-referral service for 14 to 25-year- old’s.

All of Off The Record’s services are free and include: support to asylum seekers, refugees and forced migrants through specialist counselling service; counsellors are online and can offer online support via live chat and message based counselling along with workshops enabling users to discuss key issues such as depression, anxiety and self-harm.

Young carers can access a wide range of activities and support including trips, help with school, college or training and monthly boys and girls groups.
