Neighbourhood Watch is so well known, it is more or less part of the street furniture, writes Gaetane Jones.  But do you know the name of the coordinator who looks after you and your neighbours?

Probably not but there  are many working hard to make our streets safe.

It  could be because your street does not have a coordinator yet so why don’t you become that valued and respected member of the community?

The Thornton Heath Community Action Teams Street Action Project is networking with Neighbourhood Watch to recruit more people interested in helping their community. They are both voluntary organisations with similar aims: to break down barriers by uniting people from many different backgrounds; help residents feel safer and more connected; prevent and reduce crime in our neighbourhoods and encourage community members to be alert and watchful.
