A fun art project is aiming to create a warm and welcoming atmosphere for refugees at Brigstock House.

Van Dang, The Chronicle’s designer and web administrator for the Thornton Heath Community Action Team, is  organising a series of free one hour art project, which is for children from the  age of two to 10 and their families, starting on September 11.

She said: “I want to say BIG THANKS to everyone who donated art materials and your time to Free Art. We made a forest yesterday and after six weeks the kids started to look forward to our session every Monday.  Elizabeth Owens, Off the Record and Mishalle Deepchand, these are  the colours and playdough from you (pictured.)

“As you can see we had a lot of snakes here! Thanks  Christine Milton and Barbara Benjamin for your time and patience. I could never have managed 12 kids without you.”
