Another car has smashed through a garden wall on Grange Road narrowly missing several homes.

This is the latest in a number of accidents involving speeding vehicles on the 20mph stretch. In this incident the car is believed to have been stolen from a Crystal Palace petrol station.

Families in Grange Road were left in shock after hearing the smash at about 7.45pm on Wednesday night (May 17). The crashed car, which was empty when police officers arrived, had been reported to police as stolen on Thursday morning.

Police believe the vehicle was stolen from a petrol garage in Crystal Palace Parade some time after 6pm on Wednesday. No arrests have yet been made.

The council are trying to get a speed camera on the road before someone dies as a result of numerous accidents -many of which are caused because drivers ignore the new 20mph speed limit and continue to drive fast.

There have been a number of incidents where cars have left the road and ploughed in to front gardens. This included an accident where a car exploded after hitting a wall but fortunately no one was injured.
