You have probably noticed there is a lot of graffiti in and around Thornton Heath at the moment? Above shop fronts on the High Street and an empty shop on Brigstock Road (pictured) have been targeted but now trees are being tagged.

Trees along Frant Road have been graffitied and worst still the road has recently been transformed as part of a project to counteract fly tipping which has seen S106 money from the council funding planting and tree works.
Thornton  Heath Rec has also experienced similar graffiti attacks on an educational wildlife notice board identifying local bird life.

There will be five murals featured on the High Street and Brigstock Road as part of the regneration from a range of artists. These artists went through a competition process and were commissioned and paid. Also Brigstock House, a temporary home for refugees, will  feature art work commissioned by The Rise Gallery featuring local artists.

There is definitely a place for graffiti but to enhance not detract?

Are you behind this graffiti? What is your inspiration? You clearly  have something you want to say or is it the adrenalin rush you get from leaving your tag.

Either  way please get in touch and share with us your thoughts. Happy to keep your anonymity.
